2 Year Health Guarantee
We provide a two year health guarantee with every puppy. If your puppy is found to have a genetic abnormality that impacts it’s quality of life or health then we will allow you to return that puppy to us and pick a new puppy from a future litter.
Puppy Food
We generally use Diamond Puppy Food. It is a small purple and black bag. It can be purchased at box stores like Rural King.
In the event that Diamond is unavailable, we also recommend Blue Buffalo puppy food.
F1 Versus F1B
At Armstrong Farm Doodles, we primarily breed two types of Miniature Golden Doodles: F1 and F1B.
Our mini F1 puppies are bred by crossing a toy poodle with a golden retriever. These puppies generally have a wavy coat that ranges in color from cream to red. They stand about knee high and are 25-35 lbs when full grown. They are 50% poodle and 50% golden retriever.
Our F1B mini golden doodles are made by crossing a toy poodle with an F1 golden doodle. They have the same color spectrum and size expectations but usually have a curlier coat that is non shedding. If you are looking for a hypo-allergenic puppy with a beautiful personality then this might be the right puppy for you.
Puppy Care Package
Every pup will be sent to their new home with a care package that includes a new collar, a leash, a blanket with their mother’s scent, treats, a toy, and a small bag of food to get them through the first few weeks. We recommend using Performatrin Ultra Puppy food but you can also use this food to transition them to a different food if you would like.
Vaccinations
All of our puppies are dewormed and have received their six week shots when they go home. Their 8 week shots are due with their new owner unless other arrangements have been made with us prior to their 8 week appointment.
Per our contract, puppies should have a vet appointment scheduled within 3 business days of going to their new homes so they can become acquainted with their new vet and receive their 8 week shots.
At 12-16 weeks of age, we also recommend heart worm and flea/tick treatments to help guard their health.
Potty Training
Many people have asked us if the puppies are house broken before going to their new homes. Because of their age and lack of ability to totally control their bladders, it is just not possible for this to happen. They all gain bladder control at different ages but we have found that 8-10 weeks of age is pretty standard.
We recommend using the Bell Method for potty training your doodle. The bell method is very simple, hang a bell low on the door that you take them out to potty. Take them out this same door every time that you let them out. For the first few days, let them out every 60-90 minutes or so. They will, usually, very quickly make the connection that ringing the bell means that they can go outside to potty. After a couple of days, they will start to ring the bell when they need to go out.
